Paul Murray has been making art since the late 1960’s.  First as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator and since the mid-90’s as a Fine Artist.  His work is in collections globally and has won numerous “Best of Show” awards, including the Prix ‘d Pastel (Best of Show) IAPS, 2001 and Best of Show, Pastel Journal Top 100 in 2006.

Paul is obsessed with the quality of light, specifically at the edges of the day, near sunset and sunrise.  This also includes how light interacts within a painting — particularly in the bright highlights and luminosity in the deep shadows.  Modeling light is his favorite part of painting.

Paul’s studio is located near Santa Fe, NM in a village called “La Cienega” (The Springs)
