Over the years Janet Cook has received many awards for excellence, including finalist in the Arc Center Renewal 2017, 2019 shows, The Portrait Society of America 2017 and two awards from the Annual Member Shows of the Portrait Society of America. A Gold and Silver medal from the Allied Artists of America for pastel, a Master Circle Medal award from The International Association of Pastel Societies, and Best in Show from the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club.
Cook is an elected member of the Salmagundi Club, Pastel Society of America, The Allied Artists of America, and Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club.
Since 2010, she has taught at the Pastel Society of America and since 2019 has been an instructor at the Art Students League, NYC.
Cook studied at the National Academy of Art and Design and Art Students League, NYC, and has a degree in the History of Art from de Montford University, UK.
She has had four solo shows at Dacia Gallery, NYC and regularly participates in group shows at the Haven Gallery, NY. In 2014 she was invited to exhibit at the United Nations, NYC, and has participated in three group shows at The Denise Bibro Gallery, NYC
Her work is in the permanent collection of the Trenton City Museum, NJ, and numerous private collections through out the US, Panama, and the UK,
