Biography Lorrie B. Turner has been painting all her life, taking her first professional lesson at age eight (Pels' Art Studio, New York City), and had her first exhibition at age twelve (NYC schools, Board of Ed.) Most of Lorrie's paintings deal with the urban-scape, water/marine-scape or whatever other world she happens to find herself, mirroring its and her many moods, personalities and feelings, both familiar and challenging. The very act of painting is a release of controlled emotion. Painting outdoors or 'from life', is her main joy, many times creating a traffic jam in the middle of a normally busy city street, and at other times reflecting the alone-ness of an autumn beach. Lorrie has recently moved from Huntington, Long Island, NY, to south Florida, where she can paint "plein aire". An award winning artist, she has exhibited her paintings throughout the United States, as well as in Canada, Europe and China, and is included in many private and corporate collections.
