Mick Abbott

Biography

Mick Abbott was born in Derbyshire, in the middle of rural England.  As a boy, he developed an early appreciation of the forms and colors found in woods and rocky hillsides.  Scholarships led him to formal training at the established Derby, Stourbridge and Chelsea Colleges of Art.  Upon graduation, Mich went on to a fulfilling career as an art educator at school and college level in Cambridge, England.

Mich has been invited to be Artist In Residence at some of the most prestigious National Trust gardens in Great Britain.  Finding dynamic mystery in unlikely places, he is equally fascinated by raw and untouched landscapes – images he strives to record with the limitless potential of the pastel art form.
