Liz Haywood-Sullivan, PSA, IAPS/MC, is a traditional representational artist specializing in pastel landscapes. Her award winning paintings are defined by strong contrasts, dramatic lighting and graphic compositions and often feature the interplay between man and the environment, with buildings, roads, and signs working their way into her imagery
Her background includes industrial design, museum exhibit design, graphic design and illustration. Dedicated to a career in the fine arts since 1996, specifically the pastel medium, she teaches nationally and internationally, and is a judge and demonstrator for pastel societies and arts organizations around the country. Her paintings have won numerous awards and have been featured in local, national and museum shows, and are included in private and corporate collections worldwide.
She is the Vice President of the International Association of Pastel Societies, and holds Signature Memberships with the Pastel Society of America, Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, Connecticut Pastel Society and membership in the Academic Arts Association and Salmagundi Club of NYC. Her work has been featured in The Pastel Journal, American Artist, Southwest Art, The Artist’s Magazine and American Art Collector Magazines as well as in the new Northlight Book, Painting Sunlight and Shadow with Pastels, by Maggie Price, 2011.
