Janet A. Cook had her first solo show at Dacia Gallery, NYC*, in 2012. She also participated in a two-person show at the Broom Street Gallery, NYC, and exhibited in group shows at the Alex Adam Gallery, Harlem; Gallery 1, NJ; Farnsworth Gallery, NJ; and WhiteBox, NYC. In 2007 she was invited to participate in 'A Twist of Fate' at the Trenton City Museum, Trenton, 4 person invitational.
In competitions she has won both a Gold and Silver Medal for Pastel at the Allied Artists of America, Best in Show at the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, and two first prizes at the National Academy Museum/ School of Art and Design.
Cook’s paintings are in many collections including the permanent collection of the Trenton City Museum, NJ, The Buckingham Hotel (now Quin), NYC, and private collections in England, Israel, and Panama, as well as the United States.
Cook’s work has been published in the New York Times and reviewed in the Times of Trenton, NJ, The Pastel Journal, American Artist Magazine, Gallery and Studio Magazine, and in the online publications Bare Brush Artist , TheGreatNude.tv, and The New York Optimist. In 2007 she was featured on NBC's 'Dateline' program, the 'Da Vinci Code'.
Cook studied at the National Academy of Design and The Art Students League in NYC, and she teaches at the Pastel Society of America, NYC. and conducts plein air workshops in France
