Born and raised on the West Coast, Oregon resident Brenda Boylan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Art & Design at Cal Poly State and began her creative career as a designer for high profile sportswear clients in the Pacific Northwest.
Ten years later and unfulfilled with corporate work, Boylan switched over to painting with both pastels and oils, propelling her career with several awards and Signature Memberships with the Pastel Society of America, The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, and the Northwest Pastel Society. She is recognized nationally in the plein air circuit and is an enthusiastic teacher of the pastel medium.

Her work has been published in The Pastel Journal (April 2014 cover), Plein Air Magazine, Outdoor Painter, Southwest Art, The Best of America Pastel, and displayed at the The Butler Institute of American Art Museum, Favell Museum, and the Oregon Historical Museum.

Boylan's work is represented by:
